Gills romp to comfortable victory

Mark Stimson's side did not manage a repeat of the 8-0 victory recorded against their non-league opponents last summer, and were made to work hard for the win against a sharper Kent League outfit. Stuart Lewis' 25-yard strike handed Gills a 1-0 lead at the break before Stimson made nine changes to send out a revamped side for the second half, with only Garry Richards and Tom Wynter lasting the full 90 minutes. The Gills got into their stride after the restart and a brace from Mark McGammon and further strikes from Luke Rooney and trialist Rashid Yussuff rounded off the scoreline.
