Gills near full strength

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler should have an almost fully-fit squad to choose from when his side host Chesterfield. Hessenthaler revealed a number of players, thought to include Danny Spiller and Danny Jackman, suffered from bumps, knocks and bruises following the weekend's draw with Torquay at Plainmoor, but expects his players all to recover in time to face the Spireites. Spiller is thought to be struggling slightly with an ankle injury and was taken off after an hour of the draw and was replaced by Adebayo Akinfenwa, while Jackman was also replaced near the end of the game. Joe Martin and Jack Payne, who have been struggling with a hamstring and foot injuries respectively, were both unused substitutes but could come back into contention for the Gills. Only long-term absentee defender Simon King is definitely sidelined as he continues to struggle from an ongoing ankle problem that has hampered him for over 18 months.
