Gills end Hibbert interest
Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has decided to end his interest in young QPR midfielder Jordan Hibbert.
The 20-year-old has been on trial with the Gills, featuring in a recent friendly with Deal Town and Tuesday's practice match against Millwall XI.
Hessenthaler, though, has decided against making a move as he believes the Gills possess enough midfielders of a similar ability.
"He is perhaps no better than what we've already got," he told the Kent Messenger. "We've got the likes of Jack Payne, who is the same age.
"He needs to go away and play games somewhere, even if it's non-league for a while.
"The kid has got something but it's a position where we've got quite a lot of cover in that area. At the moment we won't be doing anything."
