The Gills are currently without a win in nine games and a large section of the Priestfield support were calling for Stimson to be sacked after Tuesday's demoralising home defeat by relegation rivals Tranmere.[LNB]Stimson had intimated after the weekend loss to Brentford that he was not sure whether he had Scally's backing, but the chairman has now come out in support of his beleagured manager.[LNB]"We must stick together. Everybody has a role to play - the manager, players and fans," Scally told the Kent Messenger.[LNB]"Mark Stimson is not a bad manager and will improve in time. The players are individually good but not gelling and the fans are understandably nervous. It's a very concerning time."[LNB][LNB]
