Versatile midfielder Danny Spiller is the second Gillingham trialist to sign for the club in 24 hours. Released by Dagenham and Redbridge in May, the former Millwall man had been looking for a new club. As a free agent, Spiller had been using video sharing site YouTube to help sell his abilities, uploading montages of his best moments in hope of a move abroad. A product of Gillingham's youth programme, the 28-year-old returns to Priestfield having played for the club until 2007. The former Gills player of the year will now join new manager and former team-mate Andy Hessenthaler after signing a five-month contract.
