Gills boss to release surplus duo

The pair have been on loan at Blue Square Premier sides Salisbury and Wrexham respectively in recent months, and with their contracts set to expire at the end of the campaign, news of their release comes as little surprise. Right-back Clohessy, 22, failed to make a senior appearance for the Gills this season, while Wales international Crofts began the season as captain but was stripped of it before being transfer-listed in October. The 24-year-old initially had a spell at Peterborough but was unable to secure a longer deal before joining the Dragons in February and although the pair would be available for the play-offs after the end of their loan deals, they are no longer in Stimson's plans. Stimson said: "Sean Clohessy's agent has made contact with me and we've said we won't be renewing his contract and he's probably going to get himself tied up. "I haven't heard from Andrew Crofts or his advisors but I think the chairman has sorted something out. I think there is a deal being done."
