Gills boss salutes young striker
Rooney grabbed the third goal in Saturday's convincing 3-0 victory over Exeter and Stimson is hoping the 18-year-old can build on his debut strike.
He told the Kent Messenger: "Luke is technically a very good footballer and he did well in pre-season.
"He has got an eye for goal and certainly let it go. To score his first goal for the club like that in front of the Rainham End was great."
