Gills boss: Promotion bid still on

The Gills virtually secured a play-off spot with their 1-0 win at Chesterfield on Saturday and are three points behind third-placed Wycombe but have a far inferior goal difference. To have any chance of going straight up, the Gills must beat Bury and Rochdale in their final two games and hope that two of the Shakers, Exeter and Wycombe fail to win again. But Stimson said: "If we get into the play-offs we'll attack them and be positive but hopefully we don't have to meet anyone and we go up automatically. "If we can get three points next week, who knows what the final weekend will bring. "I think last season Nottingham Forest in League One got through the back door with no-one really talking about them. It's still on, and while it's on, we've got to go for it."
