Gills boss frustrated by defeat

The Gills have not won in their last four matches and John Akinde's strike at Adams Park looks to have all-but ended their hopes of automatic promotion, although they spurned a golden chance to earn a point when Simeon Jackson blazed a penalty over the bar. And Stimson said: "It's disappointing and a hard one to swallow because we passed the ball well in the second half but didn't get that bit of luck that you need in front of goal. "To come away with nothing is very hard but we have to get on with it now. "You don't see many games where the referee gives one side two penalties and I felt the third penalty appeal was actually more blatant than the one he gave. "It's a very hard league with a lot of the teams equally matched and there are so many teams in with a shout of promotion but we have to make sure we are one of them in the mix at the end."
