Taylor to ring changes

Gillingham boss Peter Taylor could make wholesale changes for the home clash with Tranmere.

Taylor described his side's first-half performance in their 5-1 defeat at Leyton Orient last weekend as "the most embarrassing" he had ever overseen so he may give other players a chance on Good Friday.

Defender Leon Legge (hamstring) and striker Danny Kedwell (knee) are likely to return from injury, while Chris Whelpdale is in contention to start having made his comeback from an ankle problem as an unused substitute against Orient.

Jake Hessenthaler could miss out with a hamstring injury as the Gills look for three points in their bid for a top-half finish.

Ryan Lowe is a huge injury doubt for Tranmere.

Rovers' top scorer, who has found the net 20 times this term, has a dead leg and missed the 2-0 midweek loss to Crawley. He will now undergo a late fitness test after travelling with the team.

There was no Jason Koumas in the starting line-up on Tuesday either and although the midfielder will also make the trip to Gillingham, his troublesome toe problem will be assessed at the latest possible moment.

Tranmere are in the midst of three games within the space of seven days but remain without Abdulai Baggie (knee).
