Gills sweat on Kedwell

Danny Kedwell is a doubt for Gillingham's home match with Peterborough on Tuesday evening.

The 31-year-old forward missed the goalless draw at Oldham on Saturday with a knee problem but the club have ruled out allowing their key player to go under the knife as it would see him sidelined for five months. If his problem continues, the club say he will have his cartilage scraped, which force him to miss two to three weeks.

Doug Loft (Achilles) did not travel with the squad on Saturday, but he could be involved at Priestfield.

Manager Peter Taylor was disappointed with his side's performance at SportsDirect.com Park and he could respond by making changes, having previously picked the same side for the club's last two matches.

Peterborough will check on Kgosi Ntlhe.

The left-back has been nursing a groin injury recently and missed the goalless draw with Notts County at the weekend. Posh boss Darren Ferguson thinks the South Africa international 'has a chance' of being involved in Kent.

Winger Jon Taylor has suffered no reaction since returning from injury, although his knee problem is continually being monitored.

Michael Bostwick and Erhun Oztumer are expected to be out for about another three weeks, while Nathaniel Mendez-Laing remains around a fortnight away from a return to first-team contention.
