McDonald could return for Gills

Gillingham could recall top scorer Cody McDonald to face Fleetwood.

The former Norwich forward was rested for last weekend's 2-1 win over Crawley with Luke Norris given the nod upfront, and Justin Edinburgh now has a welcome striking dilemma ahead of kick-off.

Edinburgh switched to a 4-2-3-1 system for that long-awaited victory and now has to decide whether to revert back to their usual 4-4-2 set-up.

Gillingham, who are just five points off a play-off place with seven games of the campaign remaining, are likely to stick with Jermaine McGlashan after he shone on a rare start.

Full-back Conor McLaughlin is unable to return to the Fleetwood ranks.

The Northern Ireland international missed Sunday's 1-1 draw against Preston as he was helping his country defeat Finland in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, and he will now complete the second game of his two-match ban after picking up 10 yellow cards this term.

Nick Haughton (foot) and Stephen Jordan (hamstring) returned to the team at the weekend and left-back Adam Chicksen extended his loan stay until the end of the season this week.

Jamille Matt (leg), Danny Andrew (knee) and Jeff Hughes remain long-term absentees at Highbury.
