Gills sweating on Martin and Egan

Gillingham will check on Joe Martin and John Egan ahead of the visit of Coventry.

Left-back Martin missed last weekend's 3-1 defeat at Crewe with a calf problem and right-back Egan, who has been struggling with a foot injury, pulled out during the warm-up.

Callum Davies (foot), Amine Linganzi (hamstring) and Aaron Morris (hamstring) are expected to miss out again.

Andy Hessenthaler and his team of coaches take charge once more with the Gills' search for a new manager to replace Peter Taylor set to stretch into next week.

Coventry skipper Reda Johnson is set to miss the trip to Kent after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The defender has been out for five games and he continues to struggle with the problem.

Marcus Tudgay (hamstring) could be available, though, and is making good progress in his rehabilitation.

Danny Pugh (ankle) has suffered his own setback in his recovery after breaking down during an Under-21 game but an MRI showed the damage was not as bad as first feared.
