Hollands ready for Gills bow

Danny Hollands comes into contention for his Gillingham debut at home to Bristol City.

The Charlton midfielder joined the Kent club on a three-month loan deal on Thursday and is pushing for a starting berth against the Robins, who return to Priestfield having claimed a 2-0 Capital One Cup victory earlier this season.

Michael Harriman has also this week extended his loan stay until the end of the season and he will continue to feature at right-back with Matt Fish recovering from his ruptured cruciate ligament.

Manager Martin Allen must decide whether to alter an unchanged side which has claimed positive back-to-back draws against Brentford and Swindon as the Gills go in search of their first win of the campaign.

Bristol City look set to be without midfielder Joe Bryan and defender Derrick Williams.

The pair had to be withdrawn in the 2-1 midweek win over Crystal Palace with hamstring issues with head coach Sean O'Driscoll attributing the youngsters' problems to their age and lack of regular competitive football.

It means the likes of Marlon Pack, Liam Fontaine and James Wilson could all come into contention as City look for their second victory over the Gills this season.

Sam Baldock and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas look set to continue their partnership upfront but O'Driscoll has to decide whether to stick with goalkeeper Elliot Parish or recall Frank Fielding.
