Scott Wagstaff set to make belated Gillingham debut

Gillingham's summer signing Scott Wagstaff is back in training following a calf problem, so the midfielder could come into Justin Edinburgh's squad for a belated debut at home to Bradford in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.

Midfielder Bradley Dack is doubtful as the Gills carefully manage bone bruising around his knee.

New loan signing Baily Cargill is staying with Premier League club Bournemouth to work on his match fitness before the defender is expected to come into contention for the Gills next week.

Left-back Bradley Garmston has stepped up his recovery from a dislocated kneecap, while defender Aaron Morris (knee) remains sidelined and midfielder Lee Martin is a long-term absentee after suffering a serious ankle injury in pre-season.

Bradford boss Stuart McCall could be boosted by the return to contention of five players, including new signings Haris Vuckic and Marc McNulty, for the trip to Kent.

Vuckic played the full 90 minutes for the reserves on Wednesday, while McNulty, striker James Hanson, Tony McMahon (both calf) and fellow defender Rory McArdle (shoulder) have all been involved in training this week.

Midfielder Josh Cullen is expected to return to the squad following international duty with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s and both defender Matthew Kilgallon and winger Filip Morais got 90 minutes under their belts for the reserves.

Centre-half Nathan Clarke (calf) is still out as the Bantams bid to extend their unbeaten start to seven matches.
