Trio bolsters Gills options

Gillingham are boosted by the availability of three players for the visit of Bradford as they go in search of their first win of the season.

The versatile Charlie Lee missed last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Coventry due to a one-match suspension but returns to contention.

Chris Whelpdale (kidney) also sat out of the fixture while fellow midfielder Danny Hollands missed training earlier this week due to illness, but both are also fit to feature against the Bantams.

Gills have lost six and drawn three of their opening nine games in all competitions this season.

Bradford winger Mark Yeates is expected to shake off a bruised ankle.

Yeates was the victim of an ill-timed challenge that earned Colchester substitute Daniel Pappoe a straight red card last week, but should feature in the squad.

Manager Phil Parkinson has no new injury or suspension worries and could name the same side which started in last Saturday's 2-2 draw with Colchester, while striker Andy Gray is in contention for his first appearance of the season.

Kyel Reid was preferred to Yeates on the wing last week and should retain his place, while Rory McArdle returned to the heart of defence in place of Luke Oliver and is expected to resume alongside Andrew Davies.
