Bradley Garmston set for Gillingham return

Bradley Garmston is set to make an earlier-than-expected return to the Gillingham squad for their home game against Barnsley.

The left-back has been out for two matches with a hamstring strain, during which time the Gills have brought in Adam Chicksen on loan from Brighton to cover.

Boss Justin Edinburgh now faces a selection poser as to who starts against the Reds.

Striker Cody McDonald is Gillingham's only long-term injury as he nurses a broken foot.

Barnsley caretaker bosses Paul Heckingbottom and Tommy Wright will be without midfielder Jak McCourt as their side chases an eighth straight league win.

McCourt, an unused substitute in the last two league games after signing from Leicester until the end of the season, sustained an injury while playing for the Under-21s in midweek and will not feature.

The Reds have no new injury or suspension concerns following last week's 3-0 home win against Bury, while defender Lewin Nyatanga is hoping to be included after recently recovering from a knee injury.

Centre-half Kevin Long will play his last game before returning to parent club Burnley and winger Ryan Williams is still dogged by groin trouble.
