Fuller lift for Gills

Gillingham have been boosted by the news that the leg injury suffered by captain Barry Fuller is not as bad as first feared.Right-back Fuller suffered the injury in the 4-2 home defeat by Macclesfield on Saturday, and it was initially feared he had broken his leg. However, a scan has revealed just bruising to the bone and Fuller could be involved in the club's play-off campaign if they achieve a top-six place.Gills physio Steve Allen told the club's official website: "There's no break, no fracture and no damage to the ligaments at all. Hopefully he won't lose any match fitness and, all in all, it's very encouraging to see that it isn't as bad as everyone feared it might be."
