Four-star Gills hammer Posh

Summer signing Andrew White got his name on the scoresheet as Gillingham cruised to a 4-1 win over Peterborough. Gills opened the scoring when a mistimed clearance from Exodus Geohaghon allowed Chris Palmer to fire the ball beyond on-trial goalkeeper Steve Collis. Palmer then turned provider as the Gills soon doubled their tally, with his corner being met by the head of Andy Barcham. Collis denied Stefan Payne, Denis Oli and substitute Luke Rooney before White raced clear and calmly slotted home his side's third. Ben Wright pulled a goal back for Posh when he took a touch and fired the ball beyond substitute goalkeeper Lance Cronin but Gillingham re-established their three-goal lead as White's cross was dummied by Stanley Aborah for Rooney to fire home.
