Defender King pens new Gills deal

Gillingham defender Simon King has signed a new three-year deal with the League One club.The 26-year-old was last season's player of the year after he helped the Gills win promotion from League Two via the play-offs. King cost the Kent club £200,000 when he arrived from Barnet in 2007. He is the third player in a week to extend his contract at Priestfield, after keeper Simon Royce and striker Andy Barcham. King's accolades last season included being named in the Professional Football.... read more
