Crofts opts for Dragons loan
19 Feb 2009 - 07:46:32
Out-of-favour Gillingham midfielder Andrew Crofts has joined Wrexham on loan until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old Wales international has fallen out of favour with Gills boss Mark Stimson and recently spent time on loan at Peterborough United.
However, Crofts has now opted to help the Red Dragons challenge for an immediate return to the Football League, making his debut in the 2-1 defeat at Burton Albion.
Wrexham boss Dean Saunders told his club's official website: "He's coming to help Wrexham in our final push for promotion and I know of his qualities from working with him at Wales.
"Andrew will definitely move on to better things, but it shows the boy's character that he is still willing to come and help a Welsh club in the short term."
