Concerns mount for Hessenthaler

Gillingham have to cope with several injuries for their FA cup first-round clash with Dover. Midfielder Mark Bentley has been ruled out of Saturday's game with a slight fracture to a foot and is likely to be occupying the sidelines for around three weeks. Chris Palmer took a knock in the 2-0 defeat to Wycombe on Tuesday and is a slight doubt to face the Whites, while goalkeeper Lance Cronin could return to the squad if he recovers from a foot injury in time. Curtis Weston remains sidelined with a thigh injury and trio Danny Jackman, Mark McCammon and Andy Barcham are all unavailable with ankle injuries. Andy Hessenthaler, the Gills manager, needs a win against his former team to ease the pressure after the Gills dropped down to to 20th place in the league after two successive defeats.
