Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson has backed summer recruit Barry Cogan to be a big hit at Priestfield.
The 22-year-old Irishman has joined the Gills from League Two Barnet and Jepson expects his new boy to make his mark.
He told the Kent Messenger: "He can be another Matt Jarvis. He's got good skills and dribbling and hopefully we can bring out the best in him."
Cogan started his career with Millwall and spent just one season with the Bees before deciding to move on.
Meanwhile, Gills striker Dean McDonald is close to finalising his move to Scotland to join Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
