Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has called on supporters to back his relegation-plagued side after they boosted their survival hopes with a 2-1 win over Luton Town on Tuesday.
Simeon Jackson's late double earned the 21st placed Gills a vital win and all but condemned the Hatters to relegation.
"The second-half atmosphere was like we were going for promotion. Hopefully that is a sign of the times that we want at the club," Stimson told the club's official website.
"The people coming into the stadium now, they are possibly new to it but I think they are enjoying it as we're playing some attractive football.
"Previous to that, some people were coming in and being negative by putting the team down before the start.
"I know the fans pay their money and have the right to make their views but come and get behind the boys.
"No player goes out there to have a bad game and want the club to lose. We all want to win and enjoy ourselves."
