Boss: Gills will rise to challenge

20 June 2009 14:27
The Gills earned promotion following a narrow 1-0 victory over Shrewsbury in the League Two play-off final last month and will begin life in the third tier with the visit of rivals Swindon on August 8. But the League One newboys will need to secure their safety early with tough matches against Brighton, Leeds, Southampton, Millwall, Norwich and Wycombe looming in the final month of the campaign. Stimson told Kent News: "As a player those are the ones you are looking for straight away and it's no different as a manager. "You do have a quick look at the run-in, but I think we'll leave that until we get there because it looks tricky. Again I'm sure the players will take on the challenge."
