Boss expects players in good shape

A number of the first-team squad have already been doing some work with fitness coach Danny Ellis, but unlike last season - when the whole team returned in June - full pre-season training does not start until Thursday. But Stimson is still anticipating his squad will be in good shape upon their return as they prepare for life back in League One. "They're adults at the end of the day," he told KentNews. "I know some teams give their players programmes to do but we're all different as managers. I just said to them 'go away and enjoy your break because you've worked extremely hard this year to get us back into League One, but don't neglect your body'. "At the end of the day they are paid to be professional footballers and they have to be fit. I think I've spoken to all of them now throughout the summer and they've all said they have been maintaining themselves."
