Brentford eased to a routine 4-0 victory to heap more misery on under-pressure Gillingham boss Mark Stimson.
A brace each for Charlie MacDonald and Myles Weston secured all three points in a one-sided encounter at Griffin Park.
The Bees dominated from the off and took the lead after just nine minutes as Gills keeper Alan Julian brought down MacDonald in the box, with the striker stepping up himself to convert from the spot.
MacDonald added a second just after the half-hour, again from the spot after Toumani Diagouraga was clipped by Mark Bentley.
Weston effectively ended the contest just two minutes later, drilling home inside the near post after a surging run.
The home side took their foot off the gas after the break but there was still time for Weston to complete the rout with a powerful run and low drive in the 79th minute.
