McLeod denies Gills

Izale McLeod grabbed a last-gasp equaliser for Barnet to halt Gillingham's perfect start to their league campaign in a 2-2 draw.

Gillingham had seemed on the brink of making it three league wins out of three after Jack Payne's 30-yard strike had given them the lead with 18 minutes remaining, but McLeod got his second goal of the night in the fourth minute of added time.

The visitors went ahead after six minutes when Charlie Lee's long throw found its way to Danny Spiller at the far post who tapped in.

After Gills midfielder Curtis Weston twice spurned good opportunities at the start of the second half, Barnet equalised after 61 minutes. Substitute Tommy Fraser pumped the ball back into the box after Gillingham had only half-cleared their lines for the unmarked McLeod to nod in.

Moments later Jason Price hit the post from Mark Marshall's corner for the team only for Payne to give Gillingham the lead for the second time with a stunning strike.

But with virtually the last kick of game, McLeod turned in Anwar Uddin's free-kick to give Barnet a share of the points.
