Akinfenwa will be a hit - Hess

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler is pinning his hopes of success on summer signing Adebayo Akinfenwa, despite question marks over the striker's fitness. Akinfenwa came off the bench on the opening day of the season to score an equaliser against Cheltenham, and has started the Gills` last two games. "We need to work hard, stick together and keep getting the ball up to the big fella," Hessenthaler told Kent Online. "With him in the side we are going to score goals, without a doubt. "He's a winner and people can give him what they want from the stands and say things about his weight and stuff, but I'm not concerned by that. "His performances have shown that he is going to be one of the fans' favourites this season."
