Midfielder Stanley Aborah is hoping to kickstart his career at Gillingham after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. At the age of 17, the Ghana-born player made an appearance in the Champions League for Ajax, but since then his career has tailed off thanks to a succession of injuries. Now 23, Aborah has been training with Gillingham and is hoping for a fresh start if manager Andy Hessenthaler decides to offer him a deal. "It would be a great start for me and I'd be very happy to play for Gillingham. Being out was terrible - it was very difficult. Sometimes you think am I going to play again or not?," Aborah told Kent Online. Aborah admits that League Two football is not what he is used to, but feels he is ready for the challenge: "It's hard for me as I need to get used to the level and the difference of playing, but I think I'll do well," he added.
