Gyan stars as Ghana defeat Mali

Asamoah Gyan scored the first goal and created the second for Andre Ayew as Ghana defeated Mali 2-0 on Saturday in Group D at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Gyan curled a free-kick past goalkeeper Soumbeyla Diakite on 63 minutes and his back-heel set up 2011 BBC African Footballer of the Year Ayew for the 76th-minute second goal as Ghana maintained a perfect record after two rounds.
