Ghana batter Jamaica

30 May 2006 - 07:52:48

Ghana coach Ratomir Dujkovic was upbeat after seeing his side win their latest World Cup warm-up match 4-1 against Jamaica.

The game at Leicester's Walkers Stadium was won thanks to an own goal and strikes from Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah and Matthew Amoah, leaving Dujkovic upbeat about his side's performance.

He said: "Every match is important, but especially with the World Cup so close.

"We need to sharpen up but, of course, it was a very good result for the future. We are getting better every day and come the competition we will be ready to beat anybody.

"The commitment and the positive energy was there. This is important for the group of players and, as a team, they are much better.

"This is a good measure for the World Cup and any match can give you something new.

"We will now make an analysis and talk between the technical staff and the players about what to do to get the best out of us."
