Getafe coach Michael Laudrup was full of praise for his players after they came within minutes of knocking Bayern Munich out of the UEFA Cup.
The Spanish underdogs overcame the early sending off of Ruben De la Red to lead 3-1 in extra-time of their quarter-final second leg.
However, two late goals from Luca Toni fired the Germans into the last four and left Getafe stunned.
"It will be hard for the players to keep their chin up but life goes on and soon they will realise that they have achieved something incredible," said Laudrup.
"We played with 10 men for 113 minutes we took the lead but then they drew that's just football.
"Getafe have made history in Spain and we are a credit to Spanish football and people will remember what Getafe has done today."
