Keeper hits out at Getafe

Angry goalkeeper Roberto Abbondanzieri has accused Getafe of potentially scuppering his proposed move back to Boca Juniors.

The 36-year-old Argentinian withdrew from the squad that lost 1-0 at Racing Santander last weekend, after accusing president Angel Torres of upping his asking price at the last minute.

Abbondanzieri relented and ultimately took up a place on the bench, but the former Argentina international is unhappy with the actions of Getafe.

The veteran keeper joined the Madrid club from Boca in 2006.

"Things are going very badly for me. My choice is to finish my career with Boca, that is decided," he explained.

"It is simple. I received an offer to play for two years at the club where I had my best years and I decided to accept it.

"The problem is that the president of Getafe changed his mind when the agreement had already been reached.

"When we were going to sign the deal there was an agreement for 300,000 euros, but then he said that he wanted 100,000 more. I was stunned.

"They are trying to create something for 100,000 euros more when I have always given my best for the club.

"That is what bothered me the most and made me choose not to play any more."
