World Cup 2014 - 23 days to go: Players - Marco Reus

Germany are blessed at the moment with gifted football players and Marco Reus is one of the finest of this generation. The twenty-four-year-old versatile attacking-midfielder and winger is tipped to have a great World Cup and be a name that everyone will be talking about in Brazil and beyond.

Starting his senior career at Rot Weiss Ahlen, the player moved to Borussia Monchengladbach before signing for Borussia Dortmund in 2012 where he was born and spent his youth career. Reus has gone on to make 88 appearances for Dortmund and scored 42 goals to date making him one of Europe’s hottest properties.

Reus started playing for Germany in 2011 and has made 19 appearances and scored 7 times. Becoming a regular member of the team for the 2014 World Cup qualification rounds he scored an impressive five goals and made three assists in just six games and virtually guaranteeing his ticket in Joachim Low’s team for the World Cup Finals.

Marco Reus was named Footballer of the Year in Germany and was included in the EUFA Team of the Year for 2013. In the Bloomberg rankings he was ranked the 4th best footballer in Europe in 2013.
