Wiese wants Bremen future settled quickly

Germany goalkeeper Tim Wiese has told his German league club Werder Bremen he wants an extension to his contract to be finalised before the end of the year.

Having made five appearances for Germany, Wiese is set to travel to Euro 2012 as second-choice goalkeeper behind Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer.

The 29-year-old's contract with Bremen ends the same month, but so far nothing has been put on the table -- and his patience is running out.

"My agent already has the name of a top club up his sleeve if the story with Bremen goes to the end of the chapter," Wiese told German daily Bild.

"Of course, I want to be able to plan and I will not wait until the end of the season, but I think the talks will be conducted before the winter break."

With coach Thomas Schaaf, striker Claudio Pizarro and defender Clemens Fritz all out of contract at the end of the season, Wiese has said Bremen chief executive officer Klaus Allofs must act quickly to retain their services.

"It is important that we hold on to players such as Claudio Pizarro and Clemens Fritz, we need good people to come and coach Thomas Schaaf to stay," said Wiese.
