Warm-up win for Germany

Hosts Germany continued their preparations for the World Cup finals with a 2-1 win against Swiss club side Servette on Tuesday.

The 70-minute game was played behind closed doors in Geneva and coach Jurgen Klinsmann used the opportunity to give all 18 fully fit members of his squad a run out.

Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann was left out after being given permission to join up with the national squad late following his participation in the Champions League final, while Philipp Lahm, Christoph Metzelder, Mike Hanke and Tim Borowski were unavailable due to injury or illness.

Michael Ballack and Gerald Asamoah were on target for Germany, who will play friendly internationals against Luxembourg, Japan and Colombia before their Group A opener against Costa Rica on June 9.
