The 102-time capped German international represented his country between 1987 to 1998, scoring 47 times.

He scored in his first Euro appearance in 1988 against Denmark before adding to his tally in 1992 against the Netherlands, scoring the Germans only goal in a 3-1 defeat.

He took his tally up to five in 1996 by scoring twice against Russian and once against Croatia.

Klinsmann retired from the game in 2003 and ventured into management by taking charge of the German national team for two years between 2004 and 2006.

He has since managed former club Bayern Munich and is currently in charge of the United States.
