Low agrees Germany contract extension

Joachim Low has committed his future to Germany for the next two years after putting pen to paper on a contract extension to continue coaching the national team.

Low was out of contract after guiding Germany to the semi-finals of the recent World Cup in South Africa but will now remain at the helm until after the 2012 European Championship in Poland and Ukraine.

Assistant coach Hansi Flick, team manager Oliver Bierhoff and goalkeeping coach Andreas Kopke have also penned similar extensions.

"I'm very happy that we've managed to hold on to Joachim Low and his technical staff," said German Football Association president Theo Zwanziger.

"German football has made some great progress since 2004 and the contract renewal of Low was one of our main priorities."
