Germany coach Joachim Loew will remain in his post until 2014 even if his side fail to win Euro 2012, the German football federation (DFB) said Wednesday.

Loew has been coach of Germany since July 2006 and has steered them to the Euro 2008 final, where they were beaten by Spain, and a third place finish at the 2010 World Cup behind Spain and the Netherlands.

Loew's side remain among the favourites for victory in the Euro Championship in Poland and Ukraine on June 8-July 1.

DFB president Wolfgang Niersbach believes the 52-year-old Loew and his general manager, Oliver Bierhoff, are doing an "excellent" job.

"We all agree that in Loew and Bierhoff we have the best pair possible," said Niersbach in an interview with Sport Bild, published on Monday.

"They both do excellent jobs and so we see no reason to change a winning formula.

"If we have to suffer disappointment, we are strong enough to stand up and face it."

Germany underlined their Euro 2012 co-favourites status with a flawless qualifying campaign.

In their opening matches of Group B Loew's side will come up against Portugal, the Netherlands and Denmark.
