Loew praises maturity, eyes improvement

Germany boss Joachim Loew admitted his side were pushed all the way by Denmark in Lviv but praised a mature second-half display that saw the Germans safely book their passage in the last eight of the tournament.

Die Mannschaft will face Greece in the quarter-finals on Thursday and Loew knows there is room for improvement ahead of their clash with the surprise 2004 champions.

"The match was just as tough as we thought it would be," said Loew.

"We lacked the killer instinct in the first-half, which would have made it easier, and then Denmark scored.

"We knew we could have gone out if we had gone behind, so nerves crept in.

"We showed maturity in the second-half, but we can still improve."
