Germany make sweeping changes for Poland friendly

Germany coach Joachim Loew is set to make seven changes to his side for Tuesday's friendly against Poland in Gdansk, with Mesut Ozil, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Manuel Neuer among those being rested.
None of that trio made the trip to Poland, while defender Benedikt Hoewedes was also left behind with an adductor problem.
"We have ready-made replacements for every position," said Loew, who also admitted his delight at being able to give fringe players a chance after Germany secured their place at the Euro 2012 finals.
Werder Bremen's Tim Wiese is set to replace Neuer in goal, with Christian Traesch, Jerome Boateng and Arsenal new boy Per Mertesacker all coming into a defence where captain Philipp Lahm should keep his place at left-back.
Toni Kroos will partner Simon Rolfes in central midfield, while in front of them young star Mario Goetze, who came off the bench to score the last goal in the 6-2 win against Austria in Gelsenkirchen on Friday, will start.
Andre Schuerrle and Thomas Mueller compete for a place on the right wing, with Lukas Podolski on the left and Miroslav Klose leading the line.
The match against Poland will be a special occasion for Podolski and Klose, as both will be playing in the country of their birth for the first time.
