UEFA said on Monday that it had fined the German Football Federation (DFB) 25,000 euros ($31,000, 20,000 pounds) over the behaviour of its supporters during the country's final group stage match with Denmark.

The DFB had been charged with "the setting-off of fireworks and the improper conduct of supporters (display of inappropriate banners and symbols and inappropriate chanting)" during the game in Lviv, Ukraine, on June 17.

Germany, beaten finalists in Euro 2008, won the match 2-1, taking them through to a quarter-final meeting with 2004 champions Greece in Gdansk, Poland, which they won 4-2.

UEFA has previously fined the DFB 10,000 euros after missiles were thrown onto the pitch during Germany's opening match with Portugal on June 9.
