Two members of this summer’s 2014 German football team have been involved in a car crash in northern Italy, sources report today. The players were in two separate cars when the crash took place.

Benedikt Hoewedes and Julian Draxler were not injured and have resumed training today.

The other car was being driven by the racing driver Nico Rosberg. A further vehicle contained one other man who is a 63 year old tourist.

Rosberg, who currently leads the drivers’ championship in F1, said, ”my thoughts are with the two people who were injured and I wish them a fast recovery."
