Agent talks up Motta transfer

The agent of Genoa midfielder Thiago Motta says that his client's club will allow him to leave this summer if a suitable offer is forthcoming.

The 26-year-old Brazil international has impressed for the Serie A outfit this season, having suffered injury problems during his time with both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Motta's agent, Dario Canovi, told Radio Marte: "There is a commitment from Genoa to release him in the case of an attractive offer.

"I had been in contact with Napoli just before he went to Genoa. They had some doubts, because they already had a number of midfielders in their squad and their interest cooled.

"After solving his physical problems, I believe Motta is one of the strongest players in Europe in his position."
