Heed in good shape

Gateshead will have no fresh injury concerns when they entertain Oxford in the FA Cup first-round replay at the International Stadium.

Heed boss Gary Mills could opt to stick with the same XI that saw off Salisbury in their weekend Skrill Premier clash as the hosts look to build on a run of just one defeat in nine in all competitions.

That would mean joint-top scorers James Marwood and Colin Larkin will continue to spearhead the Gateshead attack in an effort to improve on their tally of five goals apiece this season.

Gateshead are yet to defeat their Sky Bet League Two opponents in three attempts but victory for the Heed would set up an encounter with Wrexham, leaving the winner with an opportunity to face off against potential Barclays Premier League opposition in the third round.

Andy Whing and Deane Smalley have been added to Oxford's growing injury list.

Whing (ankle) and Smalley (groin) were taken off during Saturday's 3-1 victory over Mansfield and will miss the trip.

Strikers Dave Kitson (knee) and James Constable (foot) are doubts, while long-term absentees Jake Wright (hamstring), Jon Meades and Alfie Potter (both ankle) remain sidelined.

With on-loan Shrewsbury midfielder Asa Hall ineligible, boss Chris Wilder is expected to name a number of young players in his matchday squad.
