Zamora ready for Cannavaro battle

Fulham striker Bobby Zamora believes he can get the better of World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro in Thursday night's Europa League match against Juventus.

Fulham go into the match hoping to overturn a 3-1 deficit from last week's first leg and progress to the last eight of the competition for the first time.

"I thought I did well in the first leg against him (Cannavaro) to be honest," said Zamora. "I held it up well and one thing I noticed is that he didn't like to be run down the channels. He's getting a bit older now, he wants to fight, pull and push you so I'm sure I'll try to turn and push him the other way."

Dickson Etuhu's first-half away goal in Turin gives the Cottagers a slim chance of progressing but Fulham are missing key players.

Captain Danny Murphy and midfielder Jonathan Greening are suspended while Clint Dempsey may have to partner Zamora up front due to an injury crisis which has left manager Roy Hodgson short of strikers.

A sell-out of over 25,000 will cheer the home side on, though, and Zamora is ready to deliver in what he admits will be one of the biggest games of his career.

"It would be massive if we went through," said Zamora, who has scored 15 goals this season.

"It's a huge game and we want to go further. We want to be at our best and winning that game will push us in the right direction.

"I suppose it is one of the biggest games of my life. There's so much riding on it and we are all desperate to perform."
