Zamora maintains top form
20 Dec 2009 - 11:42:53
Fulham striker Bobby Zamora took the plaudits after helping his side to a crushing 3-0 win over Manchester United at Craven Cottage.
The 28-year-old took his tally to five goals in his last four games, giving an injury-ravaged United backline a torrid afternoon.
Afterwards, boss Roy Hodgson said: "We were playing against a wounded Manchester United and that worked in our favour.
"But I can't ask any more of our team than to beat who is front of them and to play as well as they can.
"Last year Bobby played well and was a large part in our success but the goals eluded him. This year they haven't.
"We're delighted with him. Bobby has never stopped working, even when he needed a goal.
"I'm getting the best of both worlds now and that's raising his status as a player in the country.
"Everyone is taking notice and recognising the things he can do on the pitch."
