Cardiff City goalkeeper Tony Warner will make his loan switch to Fulham permanent as soon as the transfer window opens at the start of January.
The 31-year-old has impressed during his 12 appearances for the Cottagers since he arrived as cover for injury victims Mark Crossley and Jaroslav Drobny in August, and the permanent transfer will suit both clubs.
Cardiff's outspoken owner Sam Hammam explained: "Technically Tony Warner remains a Cardiff player and is on loan to Fulham.
"But all the paperwork is ready and he officially becomes a Fulham player as soon as offices open in the new year.
"In reality, he is no longer with Cardiff and we wish him all the best."
Warner endured a miserable spell at Cardiff, making just 26 league appearances following his Bosman free transfer move from Millwall in July 2004.
However, the former Liverpool trainee enjoyed an impressive five-year spell with the Lions after his departure from Anfield, playing 200 league matches for the London club.
