    Triple boost for Cottagers

    01 Sep 2007 - 07:27:05

Fulham enjoyed a busy transfer deadline day as they snapped up Spurs' Danny Murphy, Reading's Seol Ki-Hyeon and Crystal Palace striker Shefki Kuqi.

Midfielder Murphy, 30, joins on a one-year deal from Tottenham, having fallen well down the pecking order at White Hart Lane. He had previously played for Crewe, Liverpool and Charlton Athletic.

Cottagers boss Lawrie Sanchez told the club's official website: "Danny Murphy is an England international with great vision, experience and ability.

"He can split the defence with a single pass and can score goals, so I'm delighted he's chosen to come to Fulham at this stage in his career."

South Korea winger Seol joins on a three-year contract after spending just over a year with Reading, having previously moved to England to join Wolves.

Sanchez added of the 28-year-old: "Seol has many of the attributes that I look for in a player. He is strong and tenacious and is prepared to work hard to create opportunities for himself and the team."

The third new face is Finland forward Kuqi, who arrives on loan until the turn of the year as cover for the injured Brian McBride.

Departing Craven Cottage are midfielder Papa Bouba Diop, who has joined Portsmouth, while full-back Liam Rosenior has also made an exit to head to Reading as part of the deal that saw Seol move in the opposite direction.
